Do this until the fibers become springy and start standing upright. After this time the gum should be frozen enough and you can start breaking it out. Place the ice bag directly on the gum in your carpet and wait 5 10 minutes. This will harden the gum so it s easier to remove gum from carpet.

Dry cleaning involves applying a dry powder to your carpet working the powder into the carpet and then vacuuming up the dry powder. Just be careful not to spread the gum to surrounding carpet. You may also apply a dry cleaning solution citrus based degreaser or mineral alcohol to chewing gum. To freeze the gum out of your carpet grab a few ice cubes from the freezer and place them in a zip loc bag.

Hit the frozen gum with the back of a metal kitchen utensil breaking it into pieces. Use a scraping tool to fully scrape the gum from the carpet. Step 5 after the gum is completely removed wash the area with warm soapy water to get any oil that is left in the carpet. Follow the instructions on the cleaner to determine how much you should use on your carpet.

These substances will dissolve the polymer compounds in chewing gum reducing its sticky properties so it will be easy to remove the chewing gum from the carpet. Step 4 using a metal spatula or butter knife slowly start to scrape the gum off the carpet. For the total removal of a dried gum from the carpet use a knife or ordinary spoon.
